'The Divine Art of Living: Selections from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, the Bab and Abdu'l-Baha' is a collection of gems gleaned from the Baha'i Writings, one which has been beloved by Baha'is for over 60 years. But time hasn't dimmed the radiance of these gems, because these selections are just as relevant today as they were when first assembled. Among the many helpful subjects explored in this book are handling tests and ordeals; health and healing; the purpose of life in this world and the next; marriage and family life; peace and unity, to name only a few. Many of the issues we see on the news, or talk about with our friends and neighbors, can be examined in the light of the selections contained within this book, thus casting a spiritual light of hope onto these sometimes dark and distressing
times.
The easy familiarity to be gained through repeated listening will make these phrases easier to call to mind during times of need. Indeed, regardless of your spiritual background, there is much wisdom and encouragement to be gained by studying the divine art of living....more
I chose this book because I felt its contents addressed the everyday struggles we all live with. As I became more and more familiar with the material, I noticed the quotes kept finding their way into my conversations with friends and neighbors. I love this book, because it’s helped me spread the light of comfort and hope among the people I care about most.
As with my first audiobook, 'The Advent of Divine Justice,' I designed 'The Divine Art of Living' to help you in your study of these sacred verses. I included in your download the same printed material as will come with the CD set. In this material, you will find the Table of Contents, which includes the chapter titles and section headings, to help narrow your search for specific topics and to facilitate cross-referencing with the printed book. Most tracks start at the beginning of chapters, but exceptions were made when chapters exceeded thirty minutes in length.
After each selection, I say the author and title of the original printed source, both so you can find the original source, and so you'll start noticing which sources speak to you most profoundly. I also give you a copy of the printed Bibliography from the published work, so you can easily find the original source.
Finally, I have included a short glossary, for those friends who may not be familiar with some of the terminology used.
I sincerely hope that you glean as much knowledge, insight and inspiration from listening to this audiobook, as I did in creating it for you. Enjoy!
Your humble servant,
Leanne Ralya Eleff
